In air roasting, coffee beans are suspended above a heated airstream, ensuring uniform roasting from all angles at an even pace. This meticulous method guarantees that our beans are consistently roasted without any scorching. Moreover, during the initial "pop" stage known as the first-crack, the beans shed their outer skin, or chaff. In air roasting, a continuous flow of fresh hot air swiftly removes this chaff from the roasting chamber, resulting in a velvety-smooth coffee with a remarkably clean taste, heightened aromas, and accentuated flavour profiles, devoid of the typical smokiness, acidity and bitterness associated with conventional roasting methods.
